The only bib you need is a silicone one. We have 3 that’s plenty.
We use our real glass plates instead of plastic or silicone they are heavy so they don’t play with it. We avoid the plastic due to chemicals.
Highchair: get 2 one that reclines for the baby stage and one that is heavy duty for the toddler stage. Or use a Baby Bjorn (easy to travel with!) or travel highchair so when you go to someone else’s house you don’t have to hold baby and not eat.
Baby Bjorn $209 – we used for the baby stage. Roll a towel and it can hold the bottle (while supervised) at about 3.5 months they start to hold their own bottle.

Bottles Avent Natural. The big bottles are much easier to hold and at about 3-4 months you can prop them up. Daycares will not take glass bottles.
Avent Bottles multipack $48– great mix of what you need for newborn and early feeding stages. Pay attention to nipple flow rate when buying bottles.

Start bottles after 3 weeks if you still plan to nurse/breastfeed pick a nipple with a lower flow rate and it’ll help you still be able to nurse.
Get 2 bottle brushes
Hakka bottle brush $16– Worth every penny. I bought 2. One for home and one for my pumping bag. They still look brand new after 2 kids and 10month breastfeeding for both. You can sanitize/wash them easily.

Kendamil formula is the best in my opinion.
Breast feeding
- Don’t buy more than 1 or 2 bras until your milk comes in. Your breast size will change a thousand times. I used my nursing/pumping bras at the end of my pregnancy. They were too big after breast feeding about 4-5months. Momcozy pumping bra $39. Kindred Bravely $52 pumping/nursing bra
- Insurance covers a portion of the pump. I waited till my daughter was born prior to ordering my pump. Your OB can give you info on who to order from through insurance. I didn’t pump right away. If you have enough milk and baby gains weight you don’t have to pump right away. A lot of people give up early because it can be painful and takes effort. Work with a lactation person at the hospital and after if needed.
- The Spectra worked the best for me. it just sucks to carry around or do anything while pumping.
- Get a good pillow. I have my breast friend I like that you can tighten it to yourself. My Breast Friend Pillow $45 Boppy is the other popular one. Boppy nursing pillow $50
- Get nipple cream! Put it on before you shower. Warning it stains clothing! I liked the Lansinoh and the medela (super thick). Coconut oil also works well.
- Breast pads. I leaked the first 1-2 months then didn’t really leak. I didn’t leak at all with my second.
- Wearable pumps are nice but none work like you want them to. I wouldn’t get the medela freestyle. it’s annoying to have cords on and you need a pocket. I did like the Duo, easy to clean and worked well. I would try one that has the pump on the cup. read directions on pouring! Lansinoh wearable Discrete duo $160
- Breast milk bags freeze them flat!! Lansinoh Freezer bag 200 $ 25 fill to about 4oz per bag. Use a container to hold them in order of date. Chest freezers are helpful.
Diapering
Get a good butt cream that isn’t full of chemicals and actually works!
Boudreaux butt cream $7 for 2 pack

Use a little spatula to keep your hands clean. Butt Spatula

Up and Up fragrance free wipes $36 for 800

Get 2 diaper genies!! One for the nursery and one in your living space. We also use dog poop bags when out for dirty diapers (cheaper than the ones for baby diapers and no smell) Diaper Genie Signature $72 good size! this one is hard for baby/toddler to open. I don’t think there is any need for a steel one.
