• Get onesies with the hand cuffs and 2 way zip for 0-3m
  • Don’t buy mittens they won’t keep them on
  • Get sleep sacks. I like the kyte ones they are expensive but last a long time and fit a long time. If you have a January or a July baby get medium (18-30 pounds) with 1.0 and 2.5 tog look at the weight recommendations. they fit a long time and by the time you need large they are sleeping with a blanket. Kyte sleep sack $63 2.5tog
  • Don’t buy too many swaddles. Get the velcro ones. My girls only wore the swaddle for the first 2-3 weeks maybe. We did use an arms up swaddle for my first daughter.
  • At about 4 months get onesies that feet aren’t included so they can learn crawling. They need good traction
  • Get grip socks, all others are useless!Grip socks 12 pack $18 buy in bulk they will lose a lot.
  • We never bought shoes. They are a total waste until they are walking. I had the best luck with walmart shoes. Take your kid with and put them on their feet. Target is another popular place but more expensive. Shoes are super hard to guess online the sizes are weird. also had great luck at the outlet mall which I didn’t think of for the longest time! (Carters outlet)
  • Register for clothing up to 2. My daughter is 2-3T now and she’s almost 2. My 1 year old is in 18-24 m.
  • It’s better to have clothing a little big than too small. Trust me it’s a battle to get them in stuff that’s too small. especially from 6m- 18m
  • Baby will wear long sleeve onesies until about 9months or so. We had cute outfits for days out but day to day is easier in onesies. The lightweight bamboo ones are nice. Some depends on when they walk. My first daughter was walking well by 10 months so we did pants and shirts because she needed her feet exposed.
  • Look for the yellow tag on clothing that says no flame retardant chemicals. Old navy is good for pjs. carters and carters outlet has it listed on the tags as well but they are not yellow. Look close!
  • Focus on cotton for pjs. The synthetic fibers are bad for them and they don’t sleep as well.
  • Around 1.5 start wearing 2 piece PJs ( this was true for my first). I started 2 piece pjs at 9-10m for my second.
  • Get socks in multiple sizes, always non slip!!! Even when they are 2-3. It will fit in their shoes I promise. Buy sizes with a way to tell the difference. I did no ruffle in one size and then a ruffle in the next size up.No ruffle 12 pack for $10. Ruffle sock 6 pairs $15
  • use rhea lana, once upon a child etc for cheap clothing

  • look up size charts with different brands
